NTT Communications to Launch Domestic, International

| NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced that it has applied to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications today for approval to launch a domestic and international seamless cell-relay service. Target date of launch is August 31, 2000. NTT Com has been providing Super Relay CR, a domestic cell-relay service, and Arcstar Global ATM, an international cell-relay (ATM) service. Today’s announcement will see both cell-relay services combined into a single seamless service. Corporate users will be able to economically construct a seamless domestic and international network and establish secure cell-relay logical links to their domestic and international offices over a single access network and though one contract. Also, corporate users will be able to use the Arcstar Global ATM Service from Super Relay CR’s 50 access points nationwide. Moreover, service applications, billing and call center will be handled on a one-stop basis for both domestic and international service (please see Attachment for details).
