NTT Com to Launch Basic Test for Certifying Internet Skills
TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that beginning March 1 it will launch a basic-level test under its industry-recognized .com (dot com) Master" program for certifying Internet skills.
The new .com (dot com) Master BASIC" test, offered in Japanese only, will certify basic knowledge and practical skills required to use the Internet effectively in daily life. It also will be a first step for those who wish to pursue the program’s three higher-level tests.
The ability to use the Internet effectively, safely and ethically has become increasingly important in both daily life and the workplace. Since 2001, when NTT Com launched the original .com Master test to certify Internet skills for self development and professional advancement, more than 250,000 people have been tested.
People may register for the .com Master BASIC test at http://biz.ocn.ne.jo/master/ (Japanese only) from February 26.
To celebrate the launch of .com Master BASIC, 100 people who pass the test between March and May will be selected at random to receive a free copy of the official study guide for .com Master (’single star’)," the next-higher level of test.
Going forward, NTT Com will pursue collaborations with other companies to develop human resources in the IT industry through the .com Master" program and related initiatives.
