NTT Communications Launches MVNO Services in Thailand
First solution in Thailand to combine fixed and mobile corporate data communications
TOKYO, Japan — April 23, 2015 — NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within NTT (NYSE: NTT), announced today that it has immediately begun offering mobile data services for corporations as a result of acquiring a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) license through its local subsidiary, Communications Thailand Co., Ltd. (NTT Com Thailand). NTT Com will now provide high-quality corporate services for fixed and mobile communications on a one-stop basis, including solutions that link mobile devices and private networks for the first time in Thailand.
NTT Com Thailand is already well established in the local market for information and communications technology (ICT). It has provided services to multiple network operators, constructed its own highly reliable network in Thailand, and has built and operated networks for thousands of companies. Going forward, it will now offer extra-flexible solutions that combine mobile-data communication services with existing services for fixed-data domestic and international communications, data centers, cloud, security and more.
The service enables customers to connect from almost all over Thailand by using communications devices owned by Thai communications providers. It also enables to spare communication with Thai providers and outsource NTT Com Thai ICT environments and other services.
The one-stop service, which is linked to NTT Com Thailand’s data centers, cloud environment and other infrastructure, provides mobile users with secure connections to their corporate networks for corporate email, scheduling, file sharing and more. Employees will benefit from much greater flexibility in the field by utilizing in-office information and systems via their mobile devices.
Configuration of New One-stop MNVO Services
Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) enables users to delete device information, lock devices and manage downloaded files in the event of a device being lost or stolen, thereby helping to prevent information leaks.
Mobile operators in Thailand launched 3G services in 2013 and extended services nationwide as of last year. The country is now planning to auction 4G LTE frequencies as the demand grows for mobile environments offering data speeds suitable for corporate applications. Also, foreign companies operating in Thailand have shown strong demand for one-stop communications services that meet their needs for high-quality fixed and mobile communications.
Looking ahead, NTT Com Thailand expects to expand its services by providing mobile routers, voice communications and backup services for fixed-line networks.
