Foundation for Industrial Development Thai-German Institute (TGI), Mobile Innovation Company Limited (MI), and NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) Sign Groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding

Bangkok, Thailand – September 27, 2024 – The Foundation for Industrial Development Thai-German Institute (TGI), represented by President Mr. Somchai Jakkareen, Mobile Innovation Company Limited (MI), represented by President Mr. Akira Sekine, and NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), operating under Japanese law, have formalized a significant collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today. This landmark agreement marks a pivotal step in advancing Thailand's industrial sector through cutting-edge robotics and production automation technologies.

The MOU outlines a shared commitment to enhancing the growth of IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) system technology within Thai industries. This collaboration aims to support the "IoT & AI Manufacturing Line Analysis Project" and encompasses several key objectives:

1. Advancement of Technology: Promote and support the integration and expansion of IoT and AI technologies within the Thai industrial sector through targeted activities.

2. Establishment of a Core Working Group: Form a dedicated team to ensure TGI remains at the forefront of rapid technological advancements.

3. Knowledge Transfer Hub: Serve as a central resource for disseminating knowledge about IoT and AI technologies related to production processes.

4. Educational Initiatives: Collaborate on organizing seminars, training sessions, and other educational activities designed to transfer specialized knowledge to industrial personnel and educational institutions.

Under the terms of the MOU, Mobile Innovation Company Limited (MI) will provide substantial support to TGI, including:

  • Offering training courses and technical education at no cost.
  • Supplying necessary equipment, tools, and teaching materials relevant to the collaboration.
  • Co-organizing training sessions and educational activities aligned with the project's objectives.

In return, the Foundation for Industrial Development Thai-German Institute (TGI) will:

  • Develop and maintain the TGI Smart Factory room.
  • Assign dedicated staff to collaborate with MI in designing and implementing teaching content that aligns with the provided materials and meets the needs of industrial entrepreneurs.
  • Facilitate training, seminars, and consultations as part of the IoT & AI Manufacturing Line Analysis Project.

Also, NTT Com will:

  • Provide exhibits, educational materials, and services.
  • Implement related support activities, including exhibitions, training, seminars and consultation.
  • Promote understanding of the services and their details

This collaboration signifies a major advancement in the Thai industrial sector's journey towards modernization and technological excellence. The partnership between TGI, MI, and NTT Com represents a unified effort to equip Thailand's workforce with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in an increasingly automated and intelligent industrial landscape.
