New Year’s Message from the President & CEO
Greetings to our many loyal clients, partners and other stakeholders on the start of another new year. I deeply appreciate the support and cooperation you provided us throughout the past year.
At this time, I would also like to express my sincerest sympathies to those affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and the torrential rain in Oku-Noto. We stand with you during this challenging time and hope for a swift recovery of the affected areas.
As we reflect on the past year, we see it as a significant turning point for NTT Communications. We successfully implemented a new management structure and embarked on a new phase of growth. We remain dedicated to listening to the voices of our clients and partners, and our management philosophy is to bring “surprise and inspiration” to all those we serve. We will continue to work relentlessly to make this vision a reality.
Looking at both the domestic and global landscape, the future remains uncertain. Meanwhile, technological advancements such as generative AI and digital transformation continue to evolve at an unprecedented pace. In a rapidly changing world where predicting the future is increasingly challenging, our mission remains clear: to help improve daily lives, to contribute to the business growth of our customers and the economic growth of the country, and to create solutions that enable safer and more sustainable communities. At our docomo business Forum'24, held last October, we outlined the key areas of focus that will shape our efforts.
This year, we will double down on these key areas, refining the value we deliver to our clients. We will leverage IoT as a foundation for collecting diverse data and utilize AI through zero-trust networks to add value to this data.
Furthermore, we will develop systems and solutions for collecting and distributing data from a wide variety of industries into a 'social-industrial platform' aimed at addressing societal and industrial challenges, thereby enabling a sustainable future.
Additionally, we are committed to leveraging our nationwide network of branches to provide solutions that meet the needs of businesses of all sizes, with a focus on regional revitalization and supporting the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in Japan.
In response to Japan's ongoing labor shortages and IT skills gap, we will prioritize the delivery of digital business process outsourcing services through strategic partnerships.
As part of our green transformation towards a carbon-neutral society, we will accelerate the expansion of services such as our Green Nexcenter, Japan's first ultra-energy-efficient data center deploying liquid cooling systems. These will meet the growing demand for high-performance servers that run at very high temperatures, driven by the increasing use of generative AI. We will also accelerate the deployment of distributed data centers utilizing IOWN technology.
The fiscal year 2025 will mark the conclusion of the medium-term strategy we formulated in 2021. As a market leader in social and industrial digital transformation, our goal is to create new value and help create a prosperous society by connecting people, communities and businesses worldwide.
